CAT’S NEW GENSET CONTAINER HAS ‘PATENT-PENDING INNOVATION’ INSIDE

Wednesday, June 12th, 2019

Caterpillar Inc. has released a new 20 ft. (6 m) genset container for the Cat C32 standby diesel generator set. It includes a patent-pending, 4 ft. (1.2 m) outlet extension designed to fold inside the reduced-size container for shipping. The ‘clever bit’ is that this unfolds onsite to serve as a vertical discharge chamber for facilitating airflow during operations. According to the company this container has been designed to reduce the onsite installation footprint for an enclosed power solution while minimising packaging and shipping costs. Comments Joel Feucht, general manager for Caterpillar’s Large Electric Power Division: “This first-to-market energy container illustrates how our engineers leverage our technology portfolio to develop unique, market-responsive solutions to help our customers be more successful.”
