US$10m power units for Oman |

A dvision of Larsen & Toubro is busy fulfilling three orders worth US$10.88m for energy transmission projects in Oman. One of these involves an EPC contract from the Rural Areas Electricity Company SAOC, Oman. This is for 33 new 11kV substations and 33kV distribution network in the Al Duqm area in the Al Wusta region. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has also been awarded a US$240 million order for the supply of key equipment, including boilers and steam turbines, to the Marafiq Thermal Power Plant in Saudi Arabia. Elsewhere in the UAE, the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority has inaugurated Masdar's 10MW solar photovoltaic power plant. This has now become the largest such power plant on the Abu Dhabi grid. Solar installations like this one are widely predicted to become a crucial grid contributor.
